About The Position

This position reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in inspection, testing, and final inspection of raw materials and finished goods on the production/manufacturing shop floor for mechanical and/or electronic components of aircraft and/or ground support vehicles before presenting to internal or external customers. The role involves managing personnel, interacting with various departments and customers, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 10 years of Quality experience
  • Minimum of 15 years working with standards, policies, and regulatory requirements (Government and/or Commercial)
  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
  • Ability to use special test equipment and tools
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, as well as external contacts (customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies)
  • Trustworthy, able to handle confidential information routinely
  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service, and follow-up

  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree desirable
  • Experience at a minimum in one or more of the following qualifications: electrical, mechanical, electronics, hydraulics, fuels, NDI, painting, welding, structures and/or composites
  • Airframe & Power plant license highly desirable
  • Maintain Certifications as required to perform duties
  • Experience in a manufacturing/repair station/research & development environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily work of personnel, including time and attendance and overtime scheduling.
  • Manage personnel issues, conduct investigations, and perform problem-solving.
  • Interact with customers, engineering, programs, and operations on a daily basis.
  • Set priorities as required by production scheduling.
  • Attend meetings, sometimes working beyond normal shifts.
  • Provide and/or delegate guidance, mentorship, and training.
  • Coordinate with the Customer Quality Assurance Representative regarding quality matters, mandatory inspection points, and final acceptance inspection.
  • Assist Quality team members or management with failure and nonconforming material data recording and reporting.
  • Carry out and support audits.
  • Actively participate in business and strategic planning when needed.
  • Ensure all training for inspectors is kept up-to-date.
  • Ensure personnel have all necessary items to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Review Project Work Requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide accurate weekly/monthly status reporting, metrics, and other contractual obligations to meet project performance requirements and customer expectations.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
