About The Position

The Quality Control Supervisor coordinates compliance with quality requirements on Department of Defense environmental projects, in accordance with company standards and contractual obligations. This onsite role is based at a project location in Newark, New Jersey, and requires environmental or construction project experience. The supervisor ensures work meets contract specifications, applicable building codes and practices, and national and local standards. The position works with subcontractors, client representatives, and project team members to support quality standards and resolve construction quality issues. Other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may also be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in writing and orally with diplomacy and tact.
Aptitude for independent thinking and reasoning.
Skill in setting up quality control testing equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge of compliance on government construction or environmental projects.
Ability to read and understand construction plans and related technical documents.
A successful track record engaging effectively with subcontractors.
Competence with Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows, and familiarity with apps.
Environmental or construction quality control experience.
Three years of experience directly related to quality control.
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Nice To Haves

Applicable quality certification.
DoD experience, with USACE, Navy, and/or Air Force experience expected.
USACE Contractor Quality Management (CQM) training.
Knowledge of the USACE Resident Management System (RMS).
HAZWOPER 40-hour certification and 8-hour refresher certification.
HAZWOPER Supervisor Certification.
OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification.
Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts.

Responsibilities

Promote and support the quality control program with subcontractors and project team members.
Deliver quality training for project staff, subcontractors, and other attendees as directed, and participate in developing training content.
Ensure required testing is conducted, evaluate test results against specifications, and document the results.
Inspect and document received materials to verify compliance with contract documents.
Prepare and/or review design and material submittals.
Complete quality documentation, including field reports, logs, and records, accurately and on time.
Organize quality documentation and upload it to the project portal.
Ensure implementation of the Three-Phase Control Process in accordance with company standards and contract requirements.
Guide subcontractors, client representatives, and project team members to ensure construction activities follow the design.
Investigate construction quality problems and recommend solutions.
Report quality and safety incidents to appropriate quality or project management personnel and document them in the company incident database.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented, verify implementation, and close out corrective actions.
Initiate stop-work or rework in coordination with the project team when work methodologies are nonconforming.
Coordinate with Health and Safety counterparts on areas of shared responsibility.
