About The Position

The Quality Control Specialist will provide support and administration of quality systems in Watertown. This role will direct tasks and objectives of the Watertown quality team, lead Nonconformance Review for issue root cause identification and corrective/preventive actions, and provide strong visibility of nonconformance issues, associated projects, and progress in a dashboard-style format with critical success indicators. The specialist will drive, design, and manufacture quality improvements using a data-based decision-making approach, rapid problem resolution, collaboration with engineers and internal customers, and continuous process/engineering improvements. They will analyze the effectiveness of the quality system, coordinate quality-related issues with other departments, suppliers, and customers, and analyze current quality monitoring methods, systems, and tools to develop and implement new ones for increased effectiveness and efficiency. This role promotes the use of statistical analysis for improvement determination and provides analyses to support risk mitigation. Additionally, the specialist will implement quality plans for new or revised materials/products, support line audits, First Article, and receiving inspection functions, and evaluate work methods, procedures, and policies while coaching and mentoring functional groups on quality processes. Collaboration with Supply Chain, Product Development teams, and third-party manufacturers is essential, as is supporting new product development teams. The role involves generating training materials and conducting training sessions to support the quality system, ensuring products are manufactured in compliance with requirements, safety standards, and design specifications, including fixture and tooling analysis. The specialist will identify areas of systemic weakness and lead initiatives for corrective action, and support continuous improvement of product and process quality in conjunction with manufacturing and engineering. Finally, they will provide support regarding product quality issues, measurement data, measurement techniques, and performance.

Requirements

2+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment

Technical expertise to identify root cause through data analysis
Ability to evaluate, develop and implement improvements quickly

Hands-on manufacturing/engineering experience in a fabrication/assembly shop environment
Experience supporting an ISO Quality System
Ability to eliminate Quality challenges using poke-yokes and Zero QC techniques
Welding process knowledge
