About The Position

The Quality Control/ Shift Lead will provide support and supervision of the entire shift in collaboration with supervisors and managers. If a manager is not present the Quality Control/ Shift Lead has full authority to supervise and direct all shift employees. This role involves both Quality and Production related duties, including performing quality assistant tasks, overseeing production activities, and directly supervising all employees within the designated shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with laboratory and/or cleanroom environment, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates or other non-direct reports.
  • Must be able to perform all functions of the Quality Assistant.
  • Ability to work Monday - Thursday, 2:30pm - 1:00am (2nd Shift).
  • Ability to wear PPE including gowning, hair nets, beard covers, eye protection, hearing protection, and any other necessary PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a Quality Assistant, including traveler paperwork, testing, First Article, In-Process, and Final inspections.
  • Record testing results in hardcopy and/or electronic formats.
  • Oversee sorting/rework operations and label creation/inspection.
  • Check and confirm machine parameters for correct settings.
  • Oversee the completion and coordination of quality activities and documentation.
  • Assist in schedule oversight and workflow.
  • Provide daily guidance and/or direction to other Quality Assistants on the shift.
  • Train, motivate, and coach staff.
  • Make recommendations for improvement and identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Supervise all shift activity performed by employees, maintaining high visibility and access.
  • Monitor and report daily production issues, successes, material usages, waste, and downtime.
  • Report equipment problems to the appropriate department and managers.
  • Assign operators to specific tasks and/or equipment for the shift.
  • Directly supervise all employees within the designated shift.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Communicate issues relating to personnel, product, and/or equipment with appropriate management.
