This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations. The Quality Control 1 will model and coach these expectations to team members, conduct inspections to verify product specifications, and take appropriate actions for non-compliance. This position involves monitoring product grading, packaging, and weight compliance, as well as observing team members' work practices to address deficiencies. The role also includes monitoring processing areas to prevent foreign material contamination and inspecting equipment for cleanliness and proper function. Data collection, tracking, and implementation are key responsibilities, along with effective communication with management and USDA. Basic computer skills or willingness to learn company software is required. The position requires the ability to move, open, and inspect products, stand for extended periods, navigate the facility, and perform strenuous work in varying temperatures and damp environments. Dependability, integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently are essential. Understanding red meat processing methods and practices, and adapting to changing schedules including weekends, are also necessary. Maintaining a positive work atmosphere and cooperating with colleagues and leadership are crucial.
