The Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory tests, analyses, and procedures to support quality control, research, development, or diagnostic activities. The role involves preparing samples, operating laboratory equipment, recording results, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in a laboratory testing environment in either Quality Control or Analytical
  • Manage rejected material and assigned MRB activities as required
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good data collection and analysis skills with strong attention to details
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and MS Word
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with either ISO-9001 or IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems preferred
  • Previous use of SPC programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform Receiving, In-process and Final Product Testing
  • Conduct laboratory testing including hardness, tensile/compression, thermal conductivity, viscosity, density testing, and other specialized testing
  • Release incoming raw materials and finished products
  • Communicate with internal customers regarding quality issues and nonconformances
  • Collect and record Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and prepare associated reports
  • Maintain test records and databases to demonstrate compliance with customer requirements
  • Support Process and Quality Engineers with corrective action activities as required
  • Test Pilot and Scale Up material batches
  • Support the Quality Department’s day-to-day activities
