About The Position

HuGus Inc. is seeking a Quality Control and Contracts Manager (QCM) to join their team in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality control programs and managing all contractual agreements for the company. The QCM ensures that all construction and maintenance work meets or exceeds industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the QCM will oversee the negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and optimizing contract performance.

Requirements

  • Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control and contracts management.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, methods, and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation, and administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in quality management and contract management software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with federal government contracting requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs for all construction and maintenance projects.
  • Establish QC standards, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with industry best practices, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
  • Review and approve project plans, materials, and workmanship to ensure they meet the required quality levels.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address any quality-related issues or deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to the Vice President of Construction and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documentation, including material certifications and test results, are properly filed and maintained.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Mentor and develop the skills of junior quality control staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead the negotiation of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure favorable terms and compliance with HuGus Inc.'s policies and objectives.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts, ensuring they are clear, comprehensive, and legally sound.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to address complex contractual issues.
  • Oversee the administration of all contracts, ensuring that all parties fulfill their obligations and that the terms are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contract amendments, extensions, and renewals as required.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure that all deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts, including potential legal, financial, and operational risks.
  • Implement strategies to manage and resolve contract disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of all contracts and related correspondence.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on contract status, performance metrics, and any issues or risks.
  • Ensure all contract-related documentation is securely stored and easily accessible.
