About The Position

This job posting is specific to the DoD’s Skillbridge program and is only open to personnel eligible to apply for a DoD Skillbridge program. Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply for SkillBridge. SkillBridge permits you to use up to the last 180 days of service to train and learn with an industry partner. During SkillBridge participation, you continue to receive military compensation and you are covered by your military benefits. Release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent, however, and your unit commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners. Individuals who are not eligible to participate in the Skillbridge program will not be considered and should not apply. Pitch Aeronautics is a rapidly growing startup creating game-changing solutions for the utility industry. Pitch has developed a drone to install our line sensor, bird diverters, and other equipment on power lines. Our drone-deployable line sensors wirelessly transmit environmental and line characteristics to an online secure API to help utilities push more power through existing lines, prevent wildfires, and improve grid reliability. Requirements

DoD Skillbridge program eligibility
Experience with assembly/repair/manufacture of mechanical systems
Experience with electrical assembly or repair
Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn

Nice To Haves

Strong connection to Idaho (apart from Skillbridge internship)
Formal electronics assembly and repair training
Formal wiring harness assembly training
Experience with aircraft maintenance
Experience with manufacturing wiring harnesses

Responsibilities

Assemble and configure drones, including frame assembly, motor installation, drone electronics, and wiring.
Translate engineering specifications into physical assembly.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure drones are in working condition.
Troubleshoot and repair any technical issues that arise.
Perform electronics assembly on printed circuit boards. This includes manual and soldering oven assembly.
Build sensor wiring harnesses.
Perform pre-flight checks and post-flight inspections to guarantee safe and effective drone operation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to provide input for drone and sensor design improvements.
Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth project operations and timely deliveries.
