About The Position

The Quality Control Manager position involves monitoring and administering the firm’s Quality Assurance and Compliance Program for one or more project(s). This role ensures that work is performed in accordance with Russell’s standards and to the level of quality that our clients expect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in construction administration of large, multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Ability to understand project-specific QA/QC requirements and inspect items to ensure they meet the standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and interface with all levels of project team, client team, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration; specific technical and contract knowledge in scheduling, estimating, contract administration, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of all applicable construction computer software and hardware, including Procore and Structure Site.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments and tasks for one or more projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to physically operate a computer, including a keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to physically access working areas of a construction project site.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed to perform essential duties.
  • Must be able to travel to meet with management, clients, vendors, partners, or associations; or to attend conferences or training, as needed to perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a quality control plan that meets the Owner’s requirements for the project.
  • Attending meetings with the Owner to review quality plans and strategies.
  • Conducting quality inspections and creating reports to track these inspections.
  • Controlling the distribution of all project quality documentation.
  • Ensuring the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased and delivered by vendors.
  • Attending all preconstruction meetings and coordinating all quality assurance and compliance project requirements with subcontractors.
  • Overseeing all quality assurance and compliance meetings.
  • Maintaining weekly 360 progress photos.
  • Coordinating all quality-related correspondence with the client, their representatives, as well as the architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Issuing and tracking all Observations and Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Updating the project document control room from a quality assurance and compliance perspective.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive company information.
  • Reporting progress on assigned tasks to supervisor and assisting other team members as needed to meet team goals.
