About The Position

As the person in charge of quality control of completed vehicles, this role involves supervising, planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of multiple team leaders engaged in vehicle production. The position requires ensuring the inspection of materials, products, and equipment to detect defects, maintaining equipment operation, and ensuring team members adhere to quality, production, and process standards. This role is crucial for driving quality improvement through analysis of internal and external quality indicators, investigating quality issues to determine root causes, and implementing quality inspection and improvement activities for mass-produced vehicles and new vehicle projects. The Group Leader will also mentor teams to develop and maintain inspection standards, manage quality facilities and equipment, and participate in new vehicle projects and plant-wide quality promotion activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, plan, coordinate, and direct the team activities of multiple team leaders engaged in the production of the vehicle and their respective areas.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, proper assignments, and production sequence to meet Quality and Production goals.
  • Assure inspection of materials, products, and equipment to detect defects and malfunctions.
  • Demonstrate and assure maintenance of equipment operation, work, and safety procedures to team members.
  • Observe work and monitor process to ensure team members conform to quality, production, and process standards.
  • Recommend actions and drive quality improvement through coordination, monitoring, and performing specialized technical process/related functions directly related to completed vehicle inspection (including abnormality management).
  • Analyze internal and external quality indicators, and determine quality trends to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, & HRD metrics.
  • Research and investigate quality issues to determine root cause.
  • Execute and implement quality inspection and improvement activities of mass-produced vehicles, and conducting activities to identify new vehicle projects analysis of completed vehicle to ensure its high quality and conformity to international standards.
  • Establish/improve inspection methods and prevent leakage/flow out of post-processes.
  • Mentor and utilize team to develop, maintain, and ensure the standards and criteria for Line Inspection provides a sound and secure inspection system for a defect-free vehicle to our customers.
  • Analyze the cause of vehicle problems, conduct improvement activities, audits, and prepare and implement quality meetings.
  • Review early customer statistical, historical, internal and external quality data to prioritize, drive, and track inspection improvements in new model and current models.
  • Facilitate, recommend actions, and drive improvement through the quality and production departments for completed vehicle quality and continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage quality facility/equipment, investment cost execution/management, and supplementary investment establishment.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and/or participate in plant-wide quality promotion activities and ensure effective communication between all key stakeholders to meet or exceed established goals/expectations.
  • Prepare, consult, and coordinate external events.
  • Participate in new vehicle projects (preparation for inspection, establishment of quality securing plan, and response to evaluation).
  • Coordinate new model launch phase quality-gate meetings for review and analysis of issues of equipment and/or standards.
  • Oversee and manage ongoing operations, monitor, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of processes and quality management systems.
  • Conduct monitoring of vehicle faults.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.
