About The Position

The Quality Inspector plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and quality of ClearWater's industrial construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects. Working closely with operations, clients, tradespeople, and quality teams, this position is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying work activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards. The Quality Inspector is a trusted technical resource who helps maintain quality excellence throughout project execution by coordinating inspection activities, reviewing documentation, supporting testing requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and quality. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for delivering high-quality results in industrial environments.

Requirements

  • CSA W178.2 Level I certification or higher with applicable endorsements and a valid eye examination.
  • Experience with torque, welding, and pressure testing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of ASME and CSA code requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to perform physical job demands including climbing, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial construction, maintenance, or oil and gas turnaround environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Education (WET or MET) or a Journeyperson certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting inspections of flanged and welded connections.
  • Verifying compliance with approved procedures, client specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Reviewing workmanship and completed activities to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Identifying and documenting quality concerns and supporting corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and monitor project testing activities, including Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), and Pressure testing activities.
  • Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) execution and compliance.
  • Collaboration with project teams and subcontractors to ensure inspection requirements are completed efficiently.
  • Preparing and updating quality documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Tracking inspection records, reports, and testing documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with client specifications and ASME and CSA code requirements.
  • Supporting audits and verification activities as required.
  • Working collaboratively with operations, project teams, and clients.
  • Promoting FLINT's commitment to Safety and Quality Always.
  • Assisting with quality investigations and lessons learned.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality performance and project outcomes.
