About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations regarding maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of aircraft, engine, and aircraft components/parts. The inspector provides technical knowledge in various fields to determine document sign-off, safety, airworthiness, or conformance. They review paperwork to ensure all work is documented properly, completed, and filed according to customer and company standards, and interpret prints, engineering change orders, and governmental regulatory procedures. The role also involves performing materials/parts receiving inspections to ensure products meet contract requirements and conform to blueprints/drawings, using precision measuring guides, gauges, and laboratory instruments. Safety is paramount, requiring work in accordance with OSHA and Company safety procedures. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and technical publications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
  • Basic computer data entry skills required for use of maintenance and logistics databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical inspections of aircraft, engines, and components.
  • Review records and perform compliance auditing.
  • Conduct in-process monitoring and provide technical support.
  • Perform parts and inventory receiving inspections.
  • Ensure quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide technical knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, sheet metal, rigging, instruments, test flights, etc.
  • Review paperwork ensuring all work has been documented properly, completed, and filed.
  • Interpret and check prints, engineering change orders, and governmental regulatory procedures and specifications.
  • Perform materials/Parts receiving Inspections ensuring products meet contract requirements and to determine conformity to blueprint/drawings.
  • Use precision measuring guides, gauges, and laboratory instruments.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and Company safety procedures.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Obtain a “Secret” security clearance if required.
  • Work alternate shifts if required.
