About The Position

Croix Gear is seeking a meticulous Aerospace Quality Control Inspector to ensure our precision-machined components meet the stringent safety and quality standards required by our organization and the aerospace industry. In this role, you will conduct inspections, tests, and analyses of aircraft components and assemblies for conformance to blueprints, process sheets, and other technical specifications. You will be a critical contributor to our commitment to zero-defect manufacturing, working across the production process to verify quality at every stage.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control or machining.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and first article inspection processes.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 aerospace quality management standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerospace quality control standards and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, Gear Analyzers).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing AS9102 First Articles and proficiency with GD&T measurement techniques.
  • Experience with CMM operation.
  • Familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.
  • Experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections using precision tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, Gear Analyzers, and CMM.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102; interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and reports; identify non-conformities and coordinate timely corrections with the production team.
  • Identify nonconformances, defects, and potential process issues; partner with production to troubleshoot and resolve them.
  • Assist in implementing and improving quality control procedures and documentation; help train teammates to elevate inspection capability across the shop.
  • Follow established work instructions and QMS procedures to verify all documentation is properly recorded and saved as required.
