Perform all tasks in Initial Phase Manufacturing, Composites, or Final Phase in a timely and efficient manner to ensure aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built to type design data. This role involves performing inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings and orders, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions, and other related documents. The inspector will perform preliminary and progressive inspections of aircraft structure and systems, verify functional operation, conduct final inspections, inspect for FOD, and verify paperwork. Additionally, the role requires witnessing, verifying, and documenting specified manufacturing process steps, performing conformity/first article inspections to ensure compliance with FAA approved procedures, and performing transfer and consolidated inspections. The inspector must ensure the proper use and storage of area tools and equipment and conduct work in a manner that enhances health and safety, product safety, and promotes risk reduction. This includes participating in safety-related event investigations, reporting workplace hazards, and making suggestions for control. The role also involves providing on-the-job training for subordinate level inspectors, coordinating inspection workload according to priorities, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, and providing technical support to manufacturing, engineering, and IPT personnel. The inspector may also perform duties of MRB signature authority, conduct area inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications, lead continuous improvement activities, and perform other duties as assigned.
