About The Position

The Quality Control Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and food safety. This position involves meticulous surveillance of incoming products, including temperature checks, quality assessments, and verification of product information such as harvest dates and origins. You will assist with monitoring inventory for potential issues, manages product quarantines, and ensures accurate record-keeping. Additionally, the role requires effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders and contributes to upholding the company's commitment to delivering exceptional fresh food solutions. This position is integral to maintaining the company's standards of excellence in service and quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred with 2 years of experience with similar responsibilities.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have a positive attitude.
  • Must be a self-directed individual with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Basic keyboarding and computer skills are required.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the procurement system and of the company products is required.
  • General math skills.
  • Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service to all customers, internal and external.
  • Actively cooperate and interact with all entities of the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel) is desired.
  • HACCP training and a technical skill set is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming trailer loads of produce and other food products for overall quality.
  • Performing trailer/product temperature checks and verifications.
  • Monitoring incoming product information (Harvest/Use-By dates, Country of Origin, source location).
  • Perform product checks within all areas of the warehouse.
  • Assist with handling product that is returned to the warehouse (return to inventory/disposal).
  • Provide assistance in monitoring inventories for potential quality issues (i.e. overstock, aged inventories).
  • Assist with quarantine, hold/release functions of the warehouse.
  • Responsible for accurate recording and filing of relevant logs and other documentation.
  • Communicate/collaborate effectively and professionally with co-workers and customers, both internal and external.
