About The Position

The Quality Control Chemist performs quality control tests and inspections of incoming raw materials, packaging, and finished products. The role also includes calibrating laboratory instruments, maintaining records, preparing reagents, testing production wastewater effluent, monitoring finished-product samples and production processes, managing laboratory inventory, and maintaining the laboratory. The position combines work in a manufacturing plant and a laboratory setting, with expected chemical exposure requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or Environmental Chemistry.

Responsibilities

Inspect, sample, and test incoming raw materials and packaging.
Inspect, sample, and test finished products.
Perform scheduled calibration of laboratory instruments and maintain calibration records.
Prepare laboratory reagents.
Collect and test production wastewater effluent.
Record test data and inspection results.
Monitor, inspect, and dispose of finished-product retain samples.
Monitor finished-product production processes to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
Enter data, including test results, calibration results, and warehouse transfers.
Maintain an inventory of laboratory reagents and supplies.
Perform general laboratory upkeep.
Perform other duties as assigned.
