Quality Control Chemist I

About The Position

The QC Chemist I assists Quality Control Laboratory personnel with sampling raw materials, purified water systems, in-process materials, and finished products. The role performs analytical testing and environmental monitoring, prepares reagents and other test preparations, operates laboratory equipment, and supports laboratory safety and documentation activities.

Requirements

Minimum two-year associate degree or four-year bachelor's degree in a science field.
Zero to five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to comprehend and execute relevant SOPs pertaining to test methods, specifications, protocols, CoAs, and documentation related to sampling, tracking, and analytical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and environmental monitoring.
Knowledge of basic chemistry skills such as weighing and pipetting.
Knowledge of cGMPs, GLP, FDA guidelines, and statistics as they relate to QC testing.
Ability to comprehend and execute special project protocols.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following policies and procedures.
Perform testing of raw material and finished product samples.
Review appropriate procedures for accuracy based on job knowledge.
Perform environmental monitoring testing and summarize data.
Prepare test preparations, including reagents, samples, and standards relevant to analytical testing.
Operate most analytical laboratory equipment.
Assist EHS with laboratory safety issues and corrections.
Complete other assignments as deemed necessary by Quality management.
