About The Position

The Quality & Compliance Specialist supports the Patient Safety Officer in the review, documentation, and reporting of patient safety events, adverse events, incidents, and patient complaints. This role ensures timely escalation of high-risk issues, accurate documentation, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The position also supports data tracking, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives to promote patient safety and regulatory readiness.

Requirements

  • Healthcare experience required
  • Hospital experience strongly preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in patient safety, quality, compliance, or regulatory reporting preferred
  • Familiarity with CMS or Joint Commission standards preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review, triage, and document patient safety events, adverse events, and incidents
  • Identify and escalate high-risk issues to leadership
  • Support investigations through record review and data collection
  • Assist with Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and corrective action tracking
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation
  • Receive, log, and track patient complaints and grievances per hospital and CMS requirements
  • Support investigation and preparation of written responses
  • Ensure timely follow-up and resolution
  • Escalate high-risk grievances as needed
  • Collect and maintain data related to safety events, grievances, and quality metrics
  • Create reports and summaries for leadership review
  • Identify trends and potential risk patterns
  • Support quality improvement initiatives
  • Support compliance with CMS, state, and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission)
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and survey readiness
  • Maintain documentation for audits and inspections
