The Quality Aviation Inspector is responsible for adhering to service guidance, aviation standards, engineering drawings/blueprints, and company standard operating procedures (SOP). This role performs inspections of maintenance tasks, field level modifications, periodic phase inspections, and completed repair tasks on aircraft or uninstalled components. The inspector ensures airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and alterations, releases aircraft for flight as applicable, and documents non-conformance/malfunctions. They also verify critical safety items, provide "OK to Install" for component parts, conduct weight and balance tasks, and follow FOD and tool control procedures. Additionally, the inspector performs receiving inspections on parts, identifies continuous improvement opportunities, and may provide guidance to less-experienced staff. The role requires carrying out inspection duties at domestic and international locations and may involve working a swing shift schedule. Other duties may be assigned by Quality Supervision.
