About The Position

Monitors plant operations for compliance with regulatory and company requirements in the Harvest Department. The QA will be responsible for assigned paperwork. The Tech will monitor the area from pre-wash up until the gut table. They will assure that tags are in place where needed (black, red, yellow tags). At each break, they will change out SRM sterilizers and ensure that any contact area is cleaned at each break. The Tech will also check equipment after each break. Acts as a liaison to USDA regulators.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or higher
  • Good Work History
  • Be able to possess basic math and computer skills, and be able to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs.
  • Must possess good analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Must be HACCP certified, or be able to become HACCP certified.
  • Must have excellent oral and written skills at a technical and general level.
  • Knowledgeable with USDA inspected facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • QA in food processing a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performing environmental sampling of equipment, drains, and raw and finished products.
  • Calibration of thermometers and scales on a daily basis.
  • Monitor sanitation standard operating procedures and document SSOP's in accordance with the companies program.
  • Monitoring and documenting the quality of packaging, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Monitoring foreign material detection and rejection.
  • Monitoring and recording weights of finished products.
  • Taking raw and finished product temperatures.
  • Monitor physical, chemical, and sensory characteristics of raw and finished products.
  • Generating and completing the required records and documentation on a daily basis for each product line in accordance to the customer's specifications.
  • Perform HACCP monitoring and verification for all critical control points of the company's HACCP programs.
  • Working alongside USDA and production employees.
  • Monitor and ensure food security and safety.
