About The Position

Poly-Cam, Inc. is a manufacturer of transition fittings for the growing plastic (HDPE) pipe industry. This candidate must be thorough in attention to detail to provide accurate measurements of the product that are being inspected. Must be able to track production through various processes to ensure all parts are exact in standard measurements. Required to inspect parts with all the necessary inspection tools and have to ability to obtain extensive knowledge in ASTM research. Must be able to implement new processes and have meetings with machinists when there are concerns or updates.

Requirements

  • Ability to track production through various processes to ensure all parts are exact in standard measurements.
  • Ability to inspect parts with all the necessary inspection tools.
  • Ability to obtain extensive knowledge in ASTM research.
  • Ability to implement new processes.
  • Ability to have meetings with machinists when there are concerns or updates.
  • Use inspection tools such as caliper, micrometer, ring gauges, paint thickness ultrasonic equipment, internal and external dimension calipers, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

  • Track production on machine side through: Daily machine production log, Daily heat number tracking and verification, Upcoming projects print planning
  • Research ASTM and implement the knowledge and standards into prints and production.
  • Write processes that obtain the information and how it is to be achieved
  • Responsible for having meeting with the operators for reasons of: High failure rates or common issues with production, Safety concerns, Customer returns
  • Pallet Inspections of all critical dimensions for the product on pallets
  • In-line Inspections- inspection of 10 critical and high-fail areas for 10% of product in bins
  • Spot Checks- Inspection of 5 parts per machine throughout the day to ensure machinists are making good product
  • 1st Article- Inspection of the first piece from every operator at the beginning of the day and the first piece after a machine has begun running a different product
  • Complete MRR write up on failed product
  • Work with 3rd party organizations to ensure standard quality on parts
  • Keep a clean work space
  • Always "Thinking Safety First"
  • Additional tasks as needed
