About The Position

TSPi is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester III to support application development and software quality assurance efforts for federal government clients. This role is ideal for an early career professional interested in software testing, accessibility compliance, and agile development practices. The Quality Assurance Tester will work closely with developers, business analysts, and project teams to validate software functionality, document defects, execute test cases, and support overall product quality throughout the software development lifecycle. This position will contribute to both manual testing and accessibility testing efforts while helping ensure applications meet functional and Section 508 compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working in collaborative Agile environments such as Scrum or SAFe. This role is contingent upon award of the project to Abt Global and TSPi.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD plus 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance practices and testing methodologies
  • Experience performing functional testing of software applications
  • Exposure to testing complex server-based software systems
  • Experience documenting and reporting test results
  • Familiarity with commercial bug tracking and defect management systems
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server and SQL query scripting
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to Section 508 compliance testing tools such as JAWS, NVDA, WAVE, ANDI, or Axe
  • Exposure to Section 508 accessibility requirements and testing processes
  • Experience developing test cases from software requirements and engineering documentation
  • Basic understanding of application interfaces, services, databases, messaging systems, and file systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accountability
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal public trust clearance

  • Experience with QA best practices and modern testing methodologies
  • Experience with Jira or similar project management and defect tracking tools
  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test reports from software design documentation
  • Experience supporting Section 508 compliance efforts for web applications
  • Experience supporting federal government or highly regulated environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test cases based on software requirements and design documentation
  • Perform manual testing of software functionality and system workflows
  • Execute Section 508 accessibility compliance testing using industry standard tools
  • Document, track, and manage software defects and remediation efforts
  • Create and maintain test reports and testing documentation
  • Coordinate and prioritize testing activities across multiple workstreams
  • Track defect status and communicate testing progress to project stakeholders
