About The Position

Purdys Chocolatier, a recipient of Canada's Best Employers award for over 115 years, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join their team in Vancouver, BC. This full-time, permanent role involves ensuring the company's quality system is developed, implemented, monitored, maintained, and improved. The technician will monitor conformance to specifications and standards through testing and internal audits, analyze data, maintain records, report on trends and performance indicators, and conduct refresher training. The position requires availability for rotating monthly 8-hour shifts between 6 AM and 12 AM at two Vancouver locations.

Requirements

• Availability to work between 6am-12am at both 2777 Kingsway and 8330 Chester St locations.
• Bachelor's degree in food science
• Up to two years of working experience in a similar position
• Problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce SQF policies and procedures
• Conduct inspection, testing, and monitoring for food safety and quality
• Assist in training employees on GMP and other quality and food safety practices
• Manage non-conformance process and implement corrective actions
• Support internal and third-party audits
• Perform product testing, sensory evaluation, and maintain documentation
