About The Position

Dura-Line, an Orbia business, is a premier manufacturer of plastic conduit pipes, creating pathways that connect people and information worldwide. The company emphasizes quality, sustainability, and safety in its manufacturing processes. This role is for a Quality Technician in the St. Albert, AB plant, responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality products, assisting with quality assurance, document control, and safety functions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-centric, and results-oriented. Two positions are available.

Requirements

  • 1-2 year(s) experience working in manufacturing environment that is interested or has a passion for quality.
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Excel, MS Word, Data Entry for reporting.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the resin system.
  • Basic understanding of test equipment.
  • Inspect product during the extrusion process.
  • Test incoming raw material and maintain records.
  • Great Attention to detail.
  • Problem solver, and good analytical skills.
  • Ability to take and follow direction.
  • Need to be team oriented, goal driven, motivated.
  • Good Attitude.
  • Attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP or ERP inventory system desirable (centralized enterprise management system), SharePoint.
  • ASQ certification is preferred.
  • Manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections and testing to ensure compliance with all applicable standards by using measuring tools/calibration.
  • Work with production personnel to create and maintain continuous improvement in products and services to our customers.
  • Perform quality control checks on company products to ensure they meet required safety and quality standards.
  • Perform daily line audits to proactively help correct defects and look for root cause corrective actions, walk through the 5Y and look at trends.
  • Perform inspections across all stages of production and conducts lab testing for incoming raw materials and manufactured goods so that they are safe to use and meet or exceed acceptable tolerances.
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
  • Monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
