About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for conducting process and product audits, performing first article and first piece inspections, and managing non-conforming material. This role involves troubleshooting assembly and documentation issues, maintaining quality documentation, and assisting with QMS audits. The technician will also perform basic computer operations using Microsoft Office and SAP, conduct failure analysis, and manage scrap and non-conforming material disposition. Cross-training and covering for other quality function roles are expected. The role requires checking incoming and new parts against drawings, measuring critical dimensions, and processing scrap transactions in SAP.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fixture assembly, test, or a combination of both.
  • Previous experience using SAP.
  • Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create/edit documents, tables, forms, and photos.
  • Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Must possess proven initiative as a self-starter and perform with minimal supervision, positive attitude, and strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities, act independently, and use sound judgment.
  • Possess technical knowledge of manufacturing processes of assigned work area.
  • Effectively communicate with Team Associates Assembly personnel, Plant Leadership Team, Technology, Documentation and various Supply Chain functions like Sourcing and Suppliers.
  • Be willing and able to obtain equipment operator’s license within the first 2 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in QC, Customer Service, or as a Team Coordinator is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct process and product audits to document procedures, control plans and specifications.
  • Audit fixture assembly, perform first article inspection, first piece inspections.
  • Record audit findings in database and work with factory personnel as necessary for corrective action requests and audit closures.
  • Initiate non-conforming material / product disposition actions like QC hold, rework, scrap.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and documentation issues to support production.
  • Maintain quality documentation and ensure inspections are being carried out to latest engineering changes.
  • Assist with internal and external QMS audits.
  • Perform basic computer operations: Use Microsoft office, SAP, and other software tools to access drawings, bills of material, and documentation.
  • Maintain record keeping and filing work forms.
  • Conduct failure analysis of products from production and customer returns.
  • Occasional use of equipment to move materials as needed for inspections and scrap processing.
  • Check incoming parts and new parts to the drawings.
  • Make measurements of critical part dimensions.
  • Process scrap transactions in SAP.
  • Manage scrap disposition – recycle bins or return to vendor.
  • Manage disposition of non-conforming material: quarantine, tag, and communicate with stake holders; materials, team leaders, and technology.
  • Be cross trained and cover for each other in several quality function roles such as auditing and receiving inspections.
