About The Position

A QA Technician is the final eye for FHE, making sure that the product meets all FHE’s procedural expectations before shipping products/equipment to the customer. This role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, managing inventory, prioritizing job orders, and completing quality control documents. The technician will learn about different equipment and products, including measurements, weighing, and stenciling. They will also represent FHE by greeting customers professionally and ensuring accuracy in paperwork and data entry. The position requires attention to detail in checking serial numbers, paint colors, job numbers, and service types. Communication with various departments is essential for job orders, inventory, and completion ETAs. The role may require performing tasks without direct supervision, including physical labor and the use of hand tools, potentially in indoor and outdoor environments with inclement weather. The technician will also assist in the shop and other departments during downtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work area to be clean, organized, and safe following 5S standards.
  • Attend work as established by employer without excessive absenteeism.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that represents a positive image of FHE.
  • Manage inventory.
  • Prioritize job orders.
  • Complete quality control documents, enter correct data into computer, upload pertinent info into Core.
  • Validate all info from all departments and compare to customer sales order for accuracy.
  • Learn the different types of equipment and products used at FHE and the purpose they serve.
  • Learn measurements, how to weigh equipment, how to stencil.
  • Represent FHE by greeting customers in a professional manner.
  • Accurately complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Look for errors on serial numbers, paint colors, job numbers, flange size and service type (correctly stamped).
  • Communicate with various departments regarding job orders, inventory, ETA for job completion, etc.
  • Perform tasks without direct supervision that may require physical labor, and possibly the use of hand tools, both indoors and outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned, i.e. helping in shop and other departments during down time.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attend weekly Shop Administration Meetings.
  • Update white board according to meeting notes.
  • Print QA documents.
  • Administer QA documents to QA technicians.
  • Locate Job Board(s).
  • Verify QA documents at equipment level.
  • Enter data from QA documents into CORE.
  • Update white board.
  • Generate Shipping Manifest; communicate with shipping department and drivers.
  • Review Shipping manifest and loaded equipment for accuracy.
  • Take photos of loaded equipment.
  • Upload equipment photos into CORE.
  • Review the shipping manifest and equipment with the customer; obtain customer signature.
  • Submit Job Board to Administration.
  • Track inner department job progress to maintain ETAs for jobs.
  • Maintain current log of custom QA requests by customer.
  • Maintain department inventory.
  • Ensure all Members of the QA Department are wearing proper PPE.
  • Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned, based on FHE needs and at the supervisor(s) request.
