Position Summary The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all manufacturing products, in our Feversham facility, meet company, customer, safety, and regulatory standards within our fast-paced bottling and plastics manufacturing environment. This role oversees quality assurance systems across water treatment, bottling, and plastics manufacturing processes while supporting sanitation standards, food safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will lead QA and sanitation personnel, support audit readiness, and work closely with operations and maintenance teams to maintain compliance with CBWA, CFIA, FDA, SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards. This position plays a key role in driving quality culture and ensuring the consistent production of safe, high-quality products.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of quality assurance experience within bottled water, beverage, plastics, food, or non-durable goods manufacturing
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within manufacturing is considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, CBWA, CFIA, and FDA requirements
  • Experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA systems and procedures for all aspects of operation
  • Monitor all production stages including water treatment, ozonation, PET resin handling, preform and bottle production, filling, capping, coding, and packaging
  • Ensure all equipment operates within validated tolerances for resin, preforms, caps, and bottled products
  • Identify, document, and analyze defects and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
  • Verify completion and accuracy of QA and production documentation to maintain quality systems
  • Support product holds, investigations, and release activities as required
  • Assist in maintaining HACCP and SQF programs across the Feversham facility
  • Ensure adherence to GMPs, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements including CBWA, CFIA, FDA, and SQF
  • Support traceability programs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Recommend, develop, and update SOPs and work instructions as required
  • Ensure plant compliance with all company procedures and policies
  • Prepare for and participate in internal, external, and regulatory audits
  • Maintain audit readiness at all times
  • Investigate and support resolution of non-conformances, customer complaints, NCRs, and CARs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, waste, rework, and downtime
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Oversee inspection and testing procedures to ensure effectiveness and reliability
  • Perform and interpret microbiological testing and related laboratory functions
  • Coordinate random sampling programs and ensure accurate documentation and follow-up
  • Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for incoming raw materials
  • Issue COAs for outgoing products including bottled water, resin, and packaging materials
  • Maintain inventory levels for QA supplies, testing materials, and laboratory equipment
  • Ensure QA and sanitation teams have the tools and consumables necessary to perform their duties effectively
  • Monitor and manage hold inventory and quarantine processes
  • Supervise QA and sanitation personnel to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Train employees across various departments on quality standards, GMPs, sanitation, and food safety procedures
  • Foster strong working relationships between QA, sanitation, maintenance, and operations teams
  • Support performance management and employee development initiatives
  • Maintain and support electronic quality systems including Fiix, Presage, PM-NCR, and SAP
  • Track and report KPIs through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting processes
  • Communicate quality concerns effectively to plant leadership, including recommending production stoppages or product holds when necessary
  • Promote a proactive, team-based quality culture throughout the facility
