About The Position

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing food safety and quality systems across the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements. This role provides direct supervision of the quality team while managing key food safety programs, data systems, and compliance activities. The Quality Supervisor partners with operations, sanitation, and cross-functional teams to drive quality performance, support continuous improvement, and maintain a state of audit readiness across the plant. The position is accountable for oversight of quality systems, testing programs, documentation control, and investigations, ensuring consistent execution of food safety standards and timely resolution of quality issues.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of Quality/QA experience within food manufacturing
  • CAPA experience
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, SQF, and GMPs
  • Understanding of quality systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and plant systems

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in food manufacturing, quality systems, or food safety required
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Sanitation or environmental program experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of plant food safety and quality programs, including HACCP and SQF systems
  • Manage food safety inspection programs and corrective/preventive action processes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards
  • Drive continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems
  • Directly supervise QA Technicians and quality team members
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management
  • Ensure consistent execution of inspection, testing, and monitoring activities
  • Drive accountability for quality performance and execution
  • Manage quality documentation systems including policies, procedures, and records
  • Ensure document control processes including revision, approval, and distribution
  • Maintain and control quality records, data systems, and reporting
  • Oversee formula management alignment across plant and system platforms
  • Manage environmental and product testing programs, including microbiological, chemical, and physical testing
  • Ensure proper sampling, testing, reporting, and trend analysis
  • Validate testing methods and program effectiveness
  • Coordinate corrective actions based on results and identified risks
  • Lead internal quality and food safety audits and inspections
  • Support external audits including AIB, FDA, and customer audits
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed through corrective actions and follow-up
  • Maintain plant audit readiness at all times
  • Lead plant traceability systems and mock recall programs
  • Execute trace exercises for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods
  • Lead food defense program activities and assessments
  • Ensure compliance with food defense and product traceability requirements
  • Lead investigations of non-conforming product and consumer complaints
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze trends and drive quality improvement initiatives
  • Support data collection systems and reporting tools
  • Support new product commercialization from trial through production
  • Partner with operations, sanitation, and engineering teams
  • Provide quality input on process changes and new materials
  • Act as liaison for co-manufacturers and external partners as needed
