About The Position

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily QA operations and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards across assigned shifts. This role provides direct supervision to QA Technicians, maintains an active floor presence, and serves as the on-site QA authority in the absence of the Sr. QA Manager. The position is accountable for documentation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence and food safety culture.

Requirements

  • Supervise, schedule, and support QA Technicians to ensure full QA coverage across all shifts.
  • Maintain active floor presence to verify real-time compliance with food safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Serve as the on-site QA authority during daily production activities and in the absence of the Sr. QA Manager.
  • Coach, train, and mentor QA Technicians in inspection procedures, documentation accuracy, and GMP compliance.
  • Promote and enforce a proactive food safety culture in alignment with company policies and cGMP requirements.
  • Collaborate with Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance to drive compliance and resolve food safety and quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance of all QA activities with HACCP, FSMA, SQF/BRC (as applicable), and internal programs.
  • Oversee execution and verification of key programs including environmental monitoring, allergen controls, sanitation verification, and pre-operational inspections.
  • Ensure all out-of-spec conditions are properly identified, documented, and escalated in a timely manner.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all QA documentation (batch records, deviation reports, pre-op inspections, hold/release forms, etc.).
  • Review and sign off on QA records, ensuring they meet internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify documentation deficiencies and coordinate immediate corrective actions, including on-the-spot retraining when required.
  • Support document control activities, ensuring records are properly completed, filed, and readily retrievable.
  • Track, analyze, and report quality performance metrics (KPIs such as holds, complaints, audit findings, and deviations).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and verified for effectiveness.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate findings to QA and plant leadership.
  • Support cross-functional teams in resolving quality and food safety issues.
  • Support preparation and execution of customer, regulatory (FDA), and third-party (SQF/BRC) audits.
  • Serve as a QA representative during audits and provide documentation and responses as needed.
  • Authorized to place product on hold and stop production in the event of food safety or quality concerns.
  • Responsible for escalating deviations and risks to the QA Manager and plant leadership.
  • Accountable for ensuring corrective actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.
