About The Position

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor. The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible in providing direction, oversight, support and coordination of quality assurance and technical activities at the Rochelle facility, as well as assist in the execution of responsibilities to ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, food safety modernization act (FSMA) compliance, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferred focus in Food Technology or related discipline in food processing. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance in food safety and quality in a food processing or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Problem-Solving capability.

  • Must be able to wear protective clothing –hard hat, glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Rochelle site with support of Corporate Quality Assurance to ensure implementation of Corporate Quality and Tech Services policies.
  • Oversee the implementation of process control and quality checks on labeling packaging lines.
  • Ensure all products received, handled, packaged and distributed at all overflow storage and shipping locations meet internal and external requirements.
  • Food Safety and Quality responsibilities include; Food Safety/HACCP Team Coordinator, Quality Systems Coordinator, Master Cleaning Schedule oversight, Finished Quality Records auditing and standardization, lead site Internal Audits, lead site visits when Regulatory Auditors on site, Food Security Team Leader, assist in Root Cause Investigation with process or product issues, Product hold administrator, Customer complaint investigations, ensure customer loading/shipping requirements are met, lead GFSI (BRC) standard compliance and implementation, lead 2nd and 3rd party auditors as needed, Manage Organic OSP and Audit, Traceability and Recall Coordinator, Pest Control Contact, Private label and co-pack QA, coordinate corrective and preventative action program, assist with tracking equipment calibration, FS and Quality Training Coordinator, Supplier approval and performance.
  • The Supervisor will receive instructions about Del Monte’s Quality Systems that include Internal Compnay Policies, 3rd Party Audit Standards, government requirements, Food Safety and ensures products conform to specifications and meets the customer’s expectations.
  • This position is responsible for the related communication, documentation, and reporting per company policy, and state and federal law.
  • Ensure product safety through development, review and enforcement of company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal and corporate food safety regulatory standards.
  • Review and enforce company quality standards provided by facility, regional and corporate quality authorities.
  • Coordinate the supervision and training of hourly production workers, as well as the oversight, direction, and training of various seasonal personnel to achieve Del Monte’s Quality Standards, as well as other goals set by the management team.
  • This role shares responsibility with site leadership in ensuring that team members hired meet the requirements of the position and are able to execute against Company and external standards.
  • Assist in managing the performance of personnel to ensure that all job functions are achieved and that all administrative actions are resolved in a timely manner by working with Human Resources as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all approved and applicable safety rules in the employee’s area of responsibility.
  • Support, facilitate, and assist in the implementation of the facility’s Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • To maintain and improve supervisory skills, food safety knowledge, and Lean knowledge, a strong effort must be made to continue education through Continuing Education Units, special training, and Del Monte internal trainings.
