About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for performing inquiry and contract review in conjunction with Sales and Engineering to identify and address project and production requirements. This role involves preparing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) based on customer, engineering, and manufacturing specifications to ensure project requirements are clearly captured and implemented. The specialist will also address specialized customer documentation requirements, conduct Kick-off meetings with customers and/or Third-Party Inspection agencies for quality plan approval, and interact with Third-Party Inspectors. A key aspect of the role is defining, developing, reviewing, and applying applicable product regulatory standards (e.g., API 6A, API 6D) and customer quality requirements on Inspection and Test Plans for effective product realization of outsourced and in-house activities. The position also includes investigating quality incidents using advanced root cause analysis methodologies, developing QMS documentation (Quality Control Procedures, Work Instructions, Engineering Specifications), reviewing and approving manufacturing routings, and ensuring compliance with Stream-Flo Group Guiding Principles in terms of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental regulations and policies. Special projects related to the QMS, as determined by the Corporate Quality Manager, will also be undertaken.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical / Materials / Chemical with minimum 3 years of experience in engineering / quality function in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem solving skills to effectively facilitate resolutions of customer product issues.
  • Product knowledge and experience working with oil & gas drilling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Control requirements of various products as per API 6A & API 6D.
  • Experience and understanding of Materials and Special Processes (NDE, Coating, Heat Treatment, etc.) and associated validation requirements.
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills to effectively facilitate resolutions of customer product or internally identified issues.
  • Ability to work with many diverse groups including inside sales, project managers, procurement, engineering and manufacturing.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and exposure to industrial codes and regulatory requirements (ASME, ASTM, etc.) will be an asset.
  • Quality Assurance Training / Certification preferred, equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake special projects related to the QMS as determined by the Corporate Quality Manager.
