About The Position

The Quality Assurance - Procurement reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for the following: Planning, performing, and documenting supplier surveillance activities, including verifying and witnessing fabrication, inspection, and testing activities, as well as reviewing relevant documentation and records to ensure specified quality requirements are met and maintained. Preparing, generating, and submitting for filing all records associated with quality surveillance activities, including significant correspondence, Quality Surveillance Plans, Quality Surveillance Records, and related documentation. Performing audits and assessments assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager. Surveillance Execution Activities: Prepare and issue Quality Surveillance Plans and Surveillance Reports in accordance with project and quality requirements. Perform quality surveillance activities for assigned Purchase Orders (POs). Verify and witness inspections, tests, and examinations in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Liaise with Engineering throughout the lifecycle of the PO on matters requiring technical interpretation or guidance to ensure acceptability and compliance with QA requirements. Identify nonconformances, document findings, and support the implementation and verification of corrective actions. Review NDE reports and inspection records to confirm compliance with applicable codes, standards, and acceptance criteria. Verify calibration status and proper use of NDE equipment. Maintain and monitor the validity of supplier qualifications for all active Purchase Orders.

Requirements

  • University bachelor’s degree in engineering, with experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years practical working experience in a relevant nuclear field.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear codes and standards such as CSA N 285.0, CSA N 299 and CSA N286-12 and ASME codes.
  • Understanding of welding, fabrication, pressure-retaining components, and structural inspections.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procedures, processes, equipment and techniques.
  • Familiarity with nuclear projects and associated engineering and technical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear corporate objectives, work methods, processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple audits and Purchase Orders concurrently while performing effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and work‑planning skills, with the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Innovative and proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement of processes and practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities to address a broad range of complex and unique challenges.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge to write procedures and review documents on a technical level.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid NDE Certification as Level II or Level III is an asset.
  • Good understanding of relevant CANDU systems, and retube technology.
