About The Position

Morrison Center is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to work on our Compliance Team. This role will be based out of Westbrook, ME. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting organizational compliance, quality improvement, and regulatory monitoring activities across Behavioral Health (DLC) and Home and Community Supports Services (HCSS) licensed programs. This role conducts internal audits, compliance reviews, trend analyses, and corrective action monitoring to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, DLC Behavioral Health Licensing standards, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. The Quality Assurance Specialist also coordinates quarterly risk management reviews and supports ongoing risk prevention activities.

Requirements

  • Experienced Quality Assurance Specialist
  • Experience supporting organizational compliance, quality improvement, and regulatory monitoring activities
  • Experience conducting internal audits, compliance reviews, trend analyses, and corrective action monitoring
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, licensing standards, organizational policies, and applicable regulations
  • Experience coordinating risk management reviews and supporting risk prevention activities
  • Experience with HCSS internal reviews including Client Rights & Protections, Service Delivery, Assessment & Planning, Staffing & Supervision, Health & Safety, and Documentation & Records
  • Experience auditing services for alignment with authorized plans and person-centered practices
  • Experience reviewing documentation for quality standards
  • Experience ensuring assessments, ISPs, and service plans are current, complete, and compliant
  • Experience verifying measurable goals and client participation in planning processes
  • Experience reviewing personnel records for qualifications, training completion, supervision documentation, and background checks
  • Experience monitoring compliance related to incident management, medication support practices, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety
  • Experience auditing records for accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and confidentiality compliance
  • Experience conducting trend analyses and monitoring implementation of corrective action plans
  • Experience reviewing documentation for medical necessity and service authorization
  • Experience monitoring for duplication of services and quality of service concerns
  • Experience monitoring compliance with DLC Behavioral Health Licensing standards including Complaint Investigation & Client Rights, Eligibility, Assessment & Service Planning, Discharge Processes, Governance, Administration & Personnel, Medication Administration Oversight, and Records Management
  • Experience supporting quality improvement plans and organizational performance improvement activities
  • Experience monitoring incident trends and assisting with data collection and analysis
  • Experience reviewing environmental safety standards, infection control practices, and emergency preparedness requirements
  • Experience monitoring compliance with mental health and integrated treatment program standards
  • Experience supporting organizational risk prevention and management activities
  • Experience coordinating and documenting quarterly risk management reviews
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and tracking corrective action plans
  • Experience assisting leadership with organization and preparation of documentation for annual risk assessment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal quality assurance reviews and compliance audits across programs and services.
  • Monitor compliance with all regulations, licensing standards, organizational policies, and documentation requirements.
  • Identify compliance concerns, operational risks, documentation deficiencies, and quality improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare written audit findings, trend analyses, summaries, and compliance reports for leadership review.
  • Track, monitor, and follow up on corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution of identified concerns.
  • Maintain audit tools, review templates, compliance trackers, and quality assurance records.
  • Conduct and coordinate HCSS internal reviews including Client Rights & Protections, Service Delivery, Assessment & Planning, Staffing & Supervision, Health & Safety, and Documentation & Records.
  • Audit services to ensure alignment with authorized plans and person-centered practices.
  • Review documentation to confirm quality standards have been met.
  • Ensure assessments, ISPs, and service plans are current, complete, and compliant.

  • Support implementation of quality improvement plans and organizational performance improvement activities.
  • Monitor incident trends and assist with data collection and analysis.
  • Review environmental safety standards, infection control practices, and emergency preparedness requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with mental health and integrated treatment program standards when applicable.
  • Support organizational risk prevention and management activities.
  • Coordinate and document required quarterly risk management reviews related to service modalities, restrictive interventions, client danger determinations, physical plant safety, client grievances, medication administration, and confidentiality breaches.
  • Develop, monitor, and track corrective action plans related to identified risks and compliance concerns.
  • Assist leadership with organization and preparation of documentation related to the annual risk assessment.
