About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Quality Assurance Representative III / NDT II with experience in U.S. Navy shipboard/Submarine NDT Inspections. This role involves developing QA Workbooks, performing quality control tests and inspections, analyzing data, and maintaining documentation. The representative will work closely with management to ensure adherence to ISO standards and NAVSEA Standard Items, recommend modifications to standards, and provide quality training. This position may also provide guidance to less-experienced staff and participate in special projects. Knowledge in welding and welder qualification is a plus. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Trained and Qualified in Nondestructive Testing Level II (Visual, Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspection)
  • 3+ years of direct experience in U.S. Navy shipboard/Submarine NDT Inspections.
  • Computer skills in Work and Excel required.
  • Requires HS diploma/GED
  • Requires Non Destructive Testing Level II certification for Visual Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing
  • Must be a US citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical Cableway and Connector knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge in welding and Welder Qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops QA Workbooks with Test and Inspection Plans.
  • Performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.
  • Records and analyzes data and writes summaries and reports to validate or show deviations from existing standards.
  • Works closely with management to ensure adherence to ISO standards and NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation related to quality assurance tests and inspections.
  • Provides quality training.
  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
  • Guides and directs employees in quality improvement efforts.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
