About The Position

The Technical Quality Assurance Inspector IV is responsible for performing expert-level inspections of manufacturing goods during and at the completion of the manufacturing process. This role involves conducting highly detailed visual, dimensional and electrical inspections of individual items, sub-assemblies or final system assemblies. The inspector will interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists to approve or reject in-process or final assemblies, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards and certifications. You will work with cross-functional teams determining root causes of non-conformances and support continuous improvement activities. Additionally, this role includes providing guidance and mentorship to the inspection team. In this role, you will perform expert-level inspections of manufacturing goods during and at the end of the manufacturing process, certify completed products, and conduct highly detailed dimensional and electrical inspections of sub-assemblies or final system assemblies. You will interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists to approve or reject in-process or final assemblies while ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards, specifications, and industry certifications. Additionally, you will document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and communicate inspection findings to relevant stakeholders and management. You will assist in drafting work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), lead or closely collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming products, and utilize Microsoft Office suite tools for documentation and reporting. Furthermore, you will collaborate in continuous improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams, maintain proficiency in industry standards and certifications, including NASA and IPC, and provide expert guidance and mentorship to Level I-III inspectors. Lastly, you will lead quality assurance projects and initiatives and support internal and external audits.

Requirements

  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Completed NASA and IPC industry standard certifications.
  • Completion of advanced GD&T training.
  • Advanced understanding of technical schematics and documents.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical wiring standards and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice To Haves

  • Current, verifiable NAS410 Level I or II certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET).
  • Proof of documented on-the-job training (OJT) and formal classroom hours matching NAS410 requirements.
  • Prior experience in Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) testing.
  • Advanced certifications in weld inspection or other NDT methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
  • Advanced certifications in quality assurance or inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or Certified Quality Inspector).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience with using advanced inspection tools and equipment, such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), laser scanners, and optical comparators.
  • Proficiency with advanced statistical process control (SPC) techniques and quality data analysis.
  • Experience with quality management software and databases, such as SAP QM or similar.
  • Quality inspection experience in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or defense, with a thorough understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations including AS9100.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor Level I-III inspectors and provide technical guidance.
  • Experience leading quality assurance projects and initiatives.
