The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality control systems to ensure that products and processes meet or exceed established standards. This role involves directing and planning all Quality functions, promoting a Quality-first culture, and managing customer requirements from scorecards. The position also entails managing the costs associated with Quality Metrics for suppliers, vendors, and sub-contractors, and providing technical support to plant personnel regarding quality. The Quality Manager is responsible for overall department outputs, staffing, and developing the technical competency of the department and product lines, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications. Key activities include preparing and updating quality documentation, managing certifications and audits, maintaining a dashboard of key performance metrics, developing a Quality Improvement roadmap, leading Quality Problem Solving training, and facilitating process improvement projects. The role also involves working with Scheduling and Operations on plans and strategies, analyzing operational KPIs, and resolving customer complaints by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Compliance with company, ISO 9001, and government procedures is essential.
