About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with advanced experience to take on a leadership role within our quality assurance team. This position is ideal for individuals who have demonstrated expertise in quality control and are ready to handle more complex quality control tasks, mentor junior team members, and assist in driving improvements across production processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, including leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Ability to work up to 100% on the plant floor, routinely lifting 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP, and quality control methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct audits, manage documentation, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Leadership qualities, with experience in training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management software.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance & Food Safety: Collaboratively develop, implement, and maintain the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), including HACCP, PCQI, and Preventive Controls.
  • Auditing & Inspections: Act as the primary contact for regulatory inspectors (USDA, FDA) and third-party audits (SQF, BRC).
  • Quality Control & Procedures: Establish, enforce, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Supplier Management: Monitor incoming raw materials and ingredients quality and supplier performance.
  • Product Safety & Testing: Oversee product testing, environmental monitoring, and the hold/release program for finished goods.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise Quality Assurance Coordinators, providing training and mentoring on food safety and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze KPIs to identify trends in complaints or quality failures, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
