About The Position

The QA Lead Technician supports the analytical testing validation quality team by independently doing hands-on lab duties, including complex testing and documentation. Execute testing of samples following approved test method procedures by utilizing and operating analytical and scientific instrumentation (GC, GPC, UV-Vis, FTIR) to carry out QC testing. Independently perform basic routine testing. This may include viscosity, pH, tensile testing, and acid/base titrations. Perform standardized Test Methods for validation purposes. Perform daily calibration verifications of testing instruments i.e., GC, GC/MS, GPC. Perform basic routine calibration, troubleshooting, and occasional maintenance on testing equipment. Prepare calibration standard solutions for building calibration curves on GC and GPC instruments. Verify calibration standards and curves are properly prepared. Support laboratory inventory upkeep, ensuring supplies are properly stocked, labeled, and accessible. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry regulations to maintain quality within the scope of the job description. This includes documentation and reporting. Support safety culture in analytical spaces and follow applicable safety procedures. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties ensuring instruments and workstations are clean and properly maintained. Practical application of internal software like Product Lifecycle Management software (Oracle Agile PLM) and ERP (SAP). In specific, to generate change orders related to QC methods. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Laboratory experience required varies by education level: 0 years with a Bachelor’s degree, 2 years with an Associate’s degree, or 4 years with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with analytical techniques (GC, GPC, UV/Vis, FTIR, rheology, thermal analysis).
  • Experience with basic physical chemistry parameters (pH, pressure, temperature).
  • Proven experience using the Scientific Method and laboratory practices.
  • Experience using calibrated instruments.
  • Experience handling chemicals safely.
  • Basic Computer Skills (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (or related field) is preferred.
  • Science-based intermediate math and statistics preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Proficient in GDP and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • Pay Transparency: The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $57,500.00 - $92,575.00
