About The Position

BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Quality Assurance Lab Coordinator for Memorial Hospital – Belleville, IL. This role serves as the designated quality representative in compliance with AABB/CAP and other regulatory standards, ensuring continuous inspection readiness across all Memorial laboratories and departments. The coordinator will lead internal audits, mock inspections, and regulatory compliance activities, oversee nonconformance management, and standardize document control, policy oversight, and quality processes. Occasional travel to other locations may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical / Life Sciences or related field
• 2 – 5 years’ experience
• MLS ASCP accredited Certification
• Experience with regulatory requirements/ inspections (CAP,AABB)

• Cert/Lic in Area of Expertise
• MT/MLS - ASCP or equiv
• RTR or equiv

Responsibilities

• Maintains continuous mandatory regulatory readiness for accrediting agencies.
• Coordinates and manages external regulatory inspections for all appropriate accrediting bodies.
• Performs validation and verification audits required by all regulatory bodies, including but not limited to, good clinical practices, competency assessment and documentation.
• Investigates and evaluates events for risk potential, loss minimization, and proper documentation in addition to using risk factor data to develop interventions and process improvement strategies.
• Participates in the development and implementation of the Quality Management Plan in accordance to the requirements of all regulatory bodies.
• Provides consultation and support to clinical teams related to performance and quality improvement initiatives and metric development and management.
• Serve as the designated quality representative in compliance with AABB/CAP and other regulatory standards
• Ensure continuous inspection readiness across all Memorial laboratories and departments
• Lead internal audits, mock inspections, and regulatory compliance activities
• Oversee nonconformance management
• Standardize document control, policy oversight, and quality processes
