This role is responsible for scheduling and performing internal audits within the Enterprise. It involves mentoring the Quality Internal Auditor I to ensure their development, making sure that audits conducted are to the procedural requirements, and monitoring the audit process metrics to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. The position also performs analysis of data to provide the organization a more focused audit based on current problems within the value stream. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and develops and promotes a good working relationship with local regulatory authorities. Ensures that effective and efficient quality audit results are delivered to our customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible technical experience in quality or auditing within aerospace or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated auditing experience with a strong understanding of audit processes and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100:2015 and FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with quality auditing, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and quality systems tools.
  • Knowledgeable in AS9100:2015 Standard required.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality policies, procedures and all related technical data required.
  • Aerospace industry experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Candidate must have auditing experience.
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CATIA, SmarTeam, Exalead Aircraft Information Retrieval (AIR), SAP, Corridor, and/or Solumina systems preferred.
  • Knowledge or certification in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • ASQ certification (CQA) preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of FAA regulations, CATIA and Solumina preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMP, ASC, CB, ADs and other quality and manufacturing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and execute internal audits across the enterprise to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Apply prior auditing experience to conduct thorough, high-quality audits that meet procedural and regulatory standards.
  • Review and approve corrective action plans, ensuring root cause is addressed and recurrence is prevented.
  • Prepare clear, concise audit reports with well-defined findings and objective evidence.
  • Analyze audit data and trends to drive risk-based auditing and focus on critical areas within the value stream.
  • Monitor audit process metrics to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the internal audit program.
  • Coordinate audit schedules, resources, and cross-functional support to ensure successful audit execution.
  • Utilize systems such as CATIA, SmarTeam, Exalead AIR, SAP, Corridor, and Solumina to support audit activities and data analysis.
  • Mentor and develop Quality Internal Auditor 1 team members, supporting their technical growth and audit readiness.
  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives using continuous improvement tools to enhance audit quality and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100:2015, FAA regulations, and other applicable standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality across the organization.
  • Coordinate scheduling and manpower assignments to audits.
  • Actively identifies and completes process improvement projects related to achieving improved quality or efficiency within the internal audit process.
  • Monitors workflow and progress and ensures that standards/expectations are met; assist Coordinators in resolving issues.
  • Coordinates activity with other departments and/or disciplines in support of audits.
  • Interprets and executes company policies and procedures; develops new procedures as required.
  • Develops processes to identify, analyze and correct quality trends based on audit results.
  • Promotes, encourages and leads employees towards a continuous improvement culture.
  • Active in promoting a strong, healthy workforce through the utilization of the Corporate Ergonomist and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) resources.
  • Prepares Quality audit team to meet future requirements through training and employee development activities. To include lead auditor training as well as product and process auditing techniques.
  • Supports and promotes the operating priorities as identified by the Quality leadership team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
