About The Position

North American Roofing is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector with experience in the Commercial Roofing industry. The primary purpose of this role is to assess and evaluate the quality, integrity, and compliance of commercial and industrial roofing systems. The inspector will conduct thorough inspections, identify potential issues or deficiencies, provide detailed reports outlining their findings, and guide onsite teams on corrective actions. This role is crucial for ensuring that all roofing projects meet high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial roofing industry
• Minimum of 1 year as a roofing inspector in commercial roofing
• Strong knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, and Modified roof systems, materials, construction techniques, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify roofing defects and potential issues.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Familiarity in using inspections, tools, equipment, and technology, such as moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• OSHA 30 or higher Certification or the ability to obtain the OSHA 30 certification within 6 months of hire.
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (Microsoft Office).

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications or qualifications in roofing inspection or related field (e.g., Roofing Quality Assurance, Roofing Inspection Certification) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of commercial roofing systems to assess their condition, quality, and compliance with relevant local and state building codes and standards.
• Verify the compliance of roofing materials, flashing, insulation, and other components with applicable codes and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assess and evaluate the quality, integrity, and compliance of commercial and industrial roofing systems.
• Conduct thorough inspections, identify potential issues or deficiencies, and provide detailed reports outlining findings and options to fix deficiencies.
• Conduct spot safety checks and inspections per OSHA and local municipality requirements, with the authority to immediately shut down, pause, or restart a roofing project based on quality or safety.
• Conduct Quality Assurance training for field crews on Quality and Safety.
• Work in conjunction with project management to ensure the quality of completed roofing projects.
• Minimize callbacks for repairs and leaks by ensuring all work is completed in a craftsman-like manner to specifications and customer satisfaction.
• Provide support to production and service teams to ensure customer needs and expectations are met and exceeded.
• Travel as required for client interaction, project oversight, or dispute resolution.
• Be responsible for KPIs for Quality Assurance in alignment with company goals and to ensure quality procedures are met.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and risk management guidelines are met or exceeded.
• Provide support on major weather event response.
• Support a culture focused on honesty, transparency, quality, safety, and customer service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
