About The Position

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring that production meets quality requirements and specifications within the delivery schedule. This role involves verifying production processes, materials, and finished products against drawings, customer standards, and quality system requirements. The inspector will also maintain nonconformance records, interface with customers and internal staff on quality issues, and coordinate problem-solving efforts. Additionally, the inspector will instruct program participants on processing work and role model proper work ethics and behaviors.

Requirements

  • Quality assurance experience or knowledge of manufacturing utilizing various machines and processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Organizational ability.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collectively.
  • Customer service skills; able to relate well to all customers internal as well as external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Process workflow by verifying quality requirements and specifications within delivery schedule.
  • Verify first part of production for conformance utilizing pertaining specifications, drawings, and customer workmanship standards.
  • Perform First Article Inspections of initial production runs per requirements.
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout production runs.
  • Check quality of material upon arrival to shop and departure from shop.
  • Verify specifications concerning products upon arrival used for product.
  • Verify all process specifications concerning product.
  • Maintain Nonconformance records and reports.
  • Complete Orion’s Quality System required reports and forms.
  • Interface with customer representatives for evaluation of nonconforming product as needed.
  • Interface with Orion Staff and customer representatives to coordinate problem solving concerning quality issues.
  • Coordinate planning operations as result of nonconformance’s and opportunities for improvements.
  • Perform verification of finish cell processes and product.
  • Evaluate periodic solution analysis reports and issue solution maintenance orders for finish cell.
  • Instruct Program Participants on processing work within delivery requirements.
  • Role model proper work ethics, behaviors, hygiene, and dress in appropriate manner.
  • Support all members of the Manufacturing and Orion team fully to achieve agency, departmental, and personal goals, and objectives.
  • Participate in team and agency meetings.
  • Facilitate departmental and agency projects.
