About The Position

Gastops, a company with a 47-year history of innovation in equipment health management across aviation, energy, marine, industrial, and transportation industries, is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector. This role, based in Ottawa, Ontario, reports to the Team Lead, Quality Inspection. The primary focus of the Quality Assurance Inspector is the quality control inspection of products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and company quality standards. The company designs, manufactures, and supports advanced equipment sensing and analysis products.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality System Requirements
  • Experience interpreting drawings, technical documents, purchase orders, etc.
  • Experience using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc)
  • Strong understanding and application of workmanship standards
  • Strong understanding of GD&T
  • Great understanding and application of quality standards and control procedures
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in an electronics and mechanical inspection-related role in a high reliability manufacturing environment.
  • Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance)

Nice To Haves

  • Worked with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, IPC-J-STD-001 is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspect in-process and finished products for all lines to ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Complete necessary quality control documentation.
  • Perform regular routine audit inspections when required.
  • Document inspection findings, including defects or deviations and ensure verifications are performed when rework is completed.
  • Monitor and meet required production inspection targets.
  • Train new inspectors as required.
  • Participate in team quality meeting(s) and provide feedback to team on issues identified after troubleshooting.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
