About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Inspector is to ensure strip and build processes are defined and executed to best in class quality standards. This role functionally reports to the Senior Team Leader, Production. A strong focus on quality is essential, with a requirement to proactively identify and lead continual improvement initiatives to optimize existing capabilities, develop new processes and resolve quality escapes with the goal of improving engine overhaul/repair turn times and product/service quality. This position requires a practical understanding of Quality Management (QMS) systems and technical knowledge of Gas Turbine (Industrial/Aero) maintenance, repair and overhaul practices from both a theoretical and practical perspective.

Requirements

• Understanding of Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) maintenance, repair and overhaul methodology & related processes.
• Strong teamwork, planning, organizational, and analytical and decision-making skills are essential.
• Working knowledge of continual improvement, process excellence and lean principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing guidance to ensure that engine strip and build processes are conducted in accordance with the applicable OEM manuals, TCT specifications and procedures, and applicable industry best practices.
• Provide oversight and perform independent checks of quality critical procedures and operations.
• Liaise with Projects to ensure work scopes are executed accurately and revisions are made based upon shop floor observations.
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and process improvement opportunities by seeking and eliminating waste and non-value-added activities.
• Take ownership of non-conformance within the engine line and actively pursue identification of root cause and ensure implementation of robust corrective action into TCT’s processes to prevent re-occurrence.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of corrective and preventative action.
• Own the Production paperwork (work cards); continually revise and improve work cards to ensure maximum effectiveness and ongoing compliance with applicable OEM requirements.
• Develop, take ownership and perform on-condition assessments (GVI) of repair engine components/assemblies/modules within the strip & build areas.
• Perform internal audits of the shop floor practices to ensure effective operation and adherence to applicable processes and procedures.
• Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) process and make recommendations on part serviceability based on fit, form & function.
• Own and operate the booking in and booking out of engines within the facility to ensure all applicable QA checks, hold-points, inspections, paperwork and certifications are handled in a consistent and repeatable manner.
• Maintain oversight of stamping in the strip & build paperwork to ensure ongoing adherence to high standards of paperwork.
• Make recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and profitability of the business in general.
• Monitor shop practices to ensure that the facility is always operated in a healthy, safe, and environmentally conscience manner, per TCT policies and procedures. Take steps to correct any condition that violates this fundamental principle.
• Increase knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
• Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
• Other duties as directed by the Senior Team Leader, Production.
