About The Position

Procon is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector for a long-term opportunity supporting the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the Arlington, VA area. This position will provide on-site quality assurance and construction inspection support for a design-build program involving courtyard improvements, garage waterproofing, structural repairs, expansion joints, drainage systems, and related facility improvements. The Quality Assurance Inspector will monitor and inspect contractor work to verify compliance with FDIC standards, contract drawings and specifications, applicable building codes, and project quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience performing quality assurance inspections on construction or renovation projects, preferably supporting federal or commercial capital projects.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, contract drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to identify and clearly document construction deficiencies, inspection findings, and corrective actions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including maintaining inspection logs, reports, and photographic documentation.
  • Ability to work independently in active construction environments and safely navigate project sites, including stairs and ladders while wearing required PPE.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • ICC, CQM-C, or other relevant construction inspection or quality certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site quality assurance inspections of contractor workmanship, materials, and equipment for compliance with contract drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Verify materials delivered and installed meet project requirements and assess construction progress and percentage of work completed.
  • Coordinate required inspections with contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, and specialized inspectors for electrical, structural, welding, and other technical work.
  • Identify and promptly document construction deficiencies and variances from contract requirements and report findings to project management.
  • Maintain detailed logs of defects, errors, omissions, corrective actions, and warranty claims through resolution.
  • Photograph and document pre-existing conditions, construction progress, deficiencies, and completion of major work activities.
  • Coordinate contractor testing schedules and track required test reports and documentation.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch list inspections, final cleaning verification, and review of closeout documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain QA inspection reports, logs, and other required project quality documentation.
