About The Position

The Final Inspector is accountable for preparing items for the shipping process to aide in process inspection of product after completion of processes. This position requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to read and comprehend technical requirements of the traveler and blueprint. This role will aid in other final inspection functions to establish compliance with order specifications and conformity. This position is located at 6457 Fly Road, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Shift hours are Monday through Friday 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Incumbent may have to train during first shift hours.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical requirements of the traveler and blueprint
  • Ability to visually verify fine detail work
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a face pace environment and have strong attention to details and able to switch between different circuit board programs.
  • Must be able to handle interruptions to work flow as necessary to accommodate engineering requests.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to look at screen/scope for long periods of time
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring technical aptitude

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience within the aerospace industry or AS9100 and OFAC helpful
  • Printed circuit board and quality experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and seal bags in preparation for shipping completed boards
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret travelers and drawings provided to assess requirements and special instructions required for jobs.
  • Have basic comprehension of IPC and military requirements.
  • Must know where to go to obtain customer specific specifications.
  • Inspects product under magnifying tool for opens, shorts, contamination, soldermask/legend issues etc…
  • Compares size and location of holes to verify conformance to specifications when assisting for first article measurements.
  • Perform any rework operations (soldermask touch-up, remove burrs/rough spots, rework damaged areas, cover exposed copper areas with soldermask, clean and/or polish surface mount pads) that can be done inside the final inspection department.
  • Stamps mark of approval or rejection, or initials, on product or traveler.
  • Logs job in and out of ERP system with accurate counts of product.
  • Records data and complete scrap report forms.
  • Stacks finished boards with separator sheets for transfer to next work station.
