About The Position

The Quality Assurance Final Inspector is responsible for ensuring all products meet customer requirements throughout all production phases, including Sales, Fabrication, Coating, and Testing, as specified in Coherent Sales Orders or customer drawings. This role involves daily written communication with customers regarding test results, product documentation, labeling, and packaging. The inspector will also communicate quality trends and issues to relevant departments in a timely and accurate manner. Various testing procedures will be performed to guarantee product quality, and the inspector will be knowledgeable in processing coating trays, transferring parts and documentation, tracking and shipping priority items, and inspecting walk-through orders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with strong emphasis in math background.
  • 1 to 3 years background in a manufacturing environment with strong math background.
  • Technical background helpful in understanding technical concepts and drawings.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) due to ITAR compliance.
  • High organizational skills involving abilities to manage a variety of different work and responsibilities at the same time, with attention to minute details.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and remember a large variety of customer labeling and documentation requirements.
  • Basic computer skills involving Microsoft office and data entry into programs.
  • Visual inspection requires good eyesight.
  • Ability to lift <25 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull 5-50lbs.
  • Use of both hands are required.
  • Follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP experience is a plus (SAP, Oracle or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all products to ensure they meet customer requirements in all phases of production.
  • Provide accurate daily written communication to customers, including test results, product documentation, labeling, and packaging.
  • Report problems and quality trends to all departments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform various testing procedures to guarantee products meet customer and internal quality requirements.
  • Process coating trays to stock or sales order.
  • Transfer parts and documentation between sales orders.
  • Track, inspect, and ship priority items.
  • Inspect and ship walk-through orders.
  • Perform laser engraver testing.
  • Perform microscope inspection.
  • Measure coated clear apertures with a scale.
  • Operate shrink wrapper for blanks.
  • Operate vacuum/heat sealer.
  • Transport product between departments.
  • Make daily computer entries to track work/sales orders in QA loggers.
  • Perform ERP transactions for stop/start and entering rejects.
  • Understand where to apply parts according to ERP.
  • Report daily discrepancies in the QA logger for review.
  • Report non-conforming product to MRB.
  • Rotate auditing/double-check duties, checking for correct labels, serial numbers, and proper documentation.
  • Record results of audits.
  • Assist in weekly inventory count of packaging supplies.
  • Assist in bi-weekly holder inventory count.
  • Assist in ensuring an adequate supply of production boxes.
  • Assist in reordering packaging supplies.
