About The Position

Join MFC as an Operations Quality Engineer at our Optical Components manufacturing center in Orlando, FL. This is a hands-on engineering opportunity focused on ensuring world-class product quality in electrical, optical, and mechanical assemblies. You will drive continuous improvement, implement modern inspection methodologies, and be a critical decision-maker for product acceptance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role in technical investigations and quality system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years professional experience, or equivalent experience/education.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with GD&T.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with SAP.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with APRISO.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Root Cause Analysis (e.g., Cause Mapping, 5-Why, Fishbone).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering presentations.
  • Minimum 2 years conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102 standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Advanced AS9102 interpretation/application.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in optics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review quality standards, work instructions, and inspection/test procedures for manufactured and procured products.
  • Design and analyze inspection/test processes, mechanisms, and equipment for optimal product quality.
  • Evaluate product test results, perform statistical risk analysis, and address products/materials not meeting standards.
  • Review and maintain documentation for internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality delivery.
  • Lead or participate in Failure Review Boards and Material Review Boards, conducting technical investigations.
  • Implement new inspection processes and automation methods for efficiency.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions for continual process improvement.
  • Conduct process assessments and audits for compliance with technical specifications and ISO-9001 / AS9100 standards.
  • Serve as a key interface with customers and program personnel on quality-related issues.
  • Make final decisions on product acceptability.
