About The Position

This position is responsible for conducting quality assurance (QA) review of construction plans as well as maintaining notes on working drawings and documenting standard drafting procedures. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week).

Requirements

Education related to Architecture or Construction
Minimum of 1 year of AutoCAD experience in residential construction
Ability to read construction plans
Good math skills (geometry, area and volume calculations)
An understanding of the structural elements of homebuilding, construction installation means and methods
Knowledge of residential construction techniques, construction documents, and building codes

Quality Assurance Drafter will be trained to use LotSpec software

Responsibilities

Review and redline construction plans for QA, per company standards and checklists
Use and maintain checklists for lot specific plans, new master plans and special projects
Edit DWG files in AutoCAD Architecture and LotSpec 3rd party software
Utilize Autodesk Design Review software to communicate redlines to the Drafters
Keep up with the production needs per the Product Development schedule – all work to be completed on time
Ensure quality control on all work
Assist Product Development Coordinator with reviewing and compiling digital packets for Drafters
Communicate with Affiliate contacts on discrepancies with Sales documents
