About The Position

The Quality Assurance Coordinator III will implement the Project Quality Plan within the assigned scope of work, provide training for key staff, and ensure the execution of Surveillance Programs. This role involves reporting quality issues, status, and metrics to Project Management, managing efforts to resolve quality issues, and potentially serving as the Procurement Quality Coordinator (PQC) or Site Quality Coordinator (SQC) until those positions are assigned. The position requires promoting quality awareness, ensuring adequate control processes are established and implemented, and overseeing the contractor’s implementation of its Quality program and compliance with project requirements. This includes approving the contractor’s Quality organization, reviewing contract language, approving Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and performing periodic assessments of contractor activities. The role also involves participating in the qualification of subcontractors/suppliers, ensuring contractor surveillance activities are commensurate with Criticality Ratings, reviewing the contractor’s quality audit schedule, and monitoring its audit program. Additionally, the coordinator will review Quality Plans of suppliers, ensure contractor quality reporting, monitor and audit implementation of Procurement and Construction Surveillance Programs, provide quality training, develop and coordinate the subproject Audit Schedule, conduct site audits, and assist with project audits. The role requires reviewing metrics from engineering, procurement, and construction sites to identify and resolve issues, assisting in selecting SQC personnel and inspectors, stewarding Procurement and Construction Surveillance Programs, and reviewing/assisting in developing the Quality portion of site close-out reports. The coordinator will advise and inform the Project Manager and Quality Manager on quality matters and ensure best practices and company lessons learned are implemented and distributed.

Requirements

  • Experience in quality assurance and control of field construction and completions activities.
  • Technical discipline certifications commensurate with work experience.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and overseas to project sites to provide various levels of support.
  • Experience in responsible Quality Management roles and coordination of quality activities for projects involving various facilities in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience managing project quality systems.
  • Extensive experience auditing quality management systems.
  • Worldwide experience with contractors and suppliers involved in production facilities projects.
  • Experience with project completions and documentation for operations turnover.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
  • Experience working in a client role on major production facilities projects preferred.
  • Qualification or certification in auditing and inspection disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Project Quality Plan within the assigned scope of work.
  • Provide training for key staff.
  • Ensure execution of Surveillance Programs through development of Surveillance Plans and ongoing monitoring and auditing.
  • Report quality issues, status, metrics, and company lessons learned to Project Management.
  • Manage efforts to resolve quality issues and improve quality activities.
  • Serve as Procurement Quality Coordinator (PQC) or Site Quality Coordinator (SQC) until those positions are assigned, if needed.
  • Promote quality awareness throughout the project.
  • Ensure adequate control processes are established and properly implemented within the subproject Project Team (PT), as stipulated in the Project Plan and Project Quality Plan.
  • Oversee the contractor’s implementation of its Quality program and compliance with project requirements.
  • Approve the contractor’s Quality organization and monitor the performance of key Quality Assurance (QA) staff.
  • Review the contractor’s standard contract and purchase order quality requirements language.
  • Review and approve the contractor’s Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Perform scheduled periodic assessments of contractor activities to evaluate and monitor implementation of the contractor’s Quality Management systems.
  • Participate in qualification of proposed subcontractors or suppliers.
  • Ensure the contractor’s surveillance activities are commensurate with Criticality Ratings.
  • Review the contractor’s quality audit schedule, monitor its audit program, and participate in selected audits.
  • Review Quality Plans of suppliers of critical equipment and materials in conjunction with the PQC.
  • Ensure the contractor performs quality reporting as required by the contract.
  • Monitor and audit implementation of PT Procurement and Construction Surveillance Programs.
  • Provide quality training as required.
  • Develop and coordinate the subproject Audit Schedule, conduct site audits within subprojects, and assist the Quality Manager with project audits as needed.
  • Review metrics from engineering, procurement, and construction sites to identify issues and assist in their resolution.
  • Assist the function in selecting SQC personnel and assist sites in selecting inspectors.
  • Steward Procurement and Construction Surveillance Programs until the respective coordinator—PQC or SQC—is assigned.
  • Review and assist in developing the Quality portion of site close-out reports as necessary.
  • Advise and inform the Project Manager and Quality Manager on quality issues, status, and metrics.
  • Ensure best practices and company lessons learned are implemented, and that new lessons learned are identified and distributed as required.
